Live music has always been extremely popular in the Brattleboro area. If your tastes run classical, you might check out the Marlboro Music Festival. This internationally respected institution has been drawing huge audiences since 1951.
Brattleboro is also home to the Brattleboro Music School. In addition to its extensive and highly accredited music faculty this organization produces concerts and musical events throughout the year, including The New England Bach Festival. Friends of Music at Guilford is now in its 37th season. Concerts and programs are given throughout the year beginning with its Labor Day Weekend Festival.
If Jazz is more to your liking, The Vermont Jazz Center is sure to please. This organization traces its origins to the 1970s and plays host to a wide variety of jazz performances, often several times a week.
The Moles Eye Cafe (802) 257-0771, also offers live music on a regular basis. Hosting Jazz, Rock and Roll, and Cabaret, among others, this venue has been drawing huge crowds for over 30 years.

From Points North and South
From I-91, take Exit 2 (Rt 9) and turn left at the end of the ramp (east) onto Western Avenue, bearing left at the fork by the Gulf station, where it becomes High Street. Proceed straight at the stop sign and continue until High Street ends in a 'T' at Main Street.
The travel distance is approximately one mile from the interstate.
Parking lots are available on the left and right just prior to getting to the light on Main Street.
From Points EastTake Rte. 2 West, To I 91 North in Greenfield
Continue on 91 North to Exit 2 (Rt 9) in VT

One has only to spend a short time in town before one begins to savor the eclectic and infinitely interesting makeup of the population here.
