Brattleboro Littles Alliance’s mission is to advocate for families with kids 0-5 in the town of Brattleboro. The goal is to make Brattleboro a more young-family-friendly town by advocating for improvements that support young families. We are currently working towards standing up a winter indoor play space, one of the most asked for things from parents.

In addition to their work championing a seasonal indoor play space, BLA has:

  • Surveyed local parents of young children to identify their needs and ideas;
  • Established a calendar of events tailored to young children that is cross-posted on the Town of Brattleboro and the BLA’s websites;
  • Presented to the Town of Brattleboro’s department heads, resulting in the Town’s commitment to tackle a list of over 30 kid-friendly improvements;
  • Partnered with the Town of Brattleboro’s Department of Public Works to create a Winter Stroller Walking Map showing the Town’s sidewalk plowing routes;
  • Partnered with the Brooks Memorial Library to pilot a new Friday afternoon open play time for kids under 6;
  • Collaborated with the Retreat Farm on ideas to make their space more kid-friendly, such as more barn access during events and upgrades to the Forest Playground; and
  • Partnered with Parks and Recreation on plans to offer more Toddler Skate times in Winter 2026, reinstate Saturday morning Toddler Open Gym at the Gibson Aiken Center, and add kid-sized picnic tables and a changing table at the Living Memorial Park.

BLA’s overall goal is to make Brattleboro a more young-family friendly town by advocating for improvements that support young families. Establishing an indoor play space is the group’s top programmatic priority.
