Valley Cares, Inc. is a community-based nonprofit organization with the mission of providing high quality, affordable housing & compassionate care allowing seniors to age in place with respect & dignity. Valley Cares, Inc. campus includes West River Valley Independent housing as well as, West River Valley Supportive and Assisted Living housing.
West River Valley Assisted Living is a State of Vermont licensed assisted living program. A registered nurse oversees care planning and medication management, while resident care staff, on site 24/7, provide assistance with activities of daily living, cleaning, laundry service, and transportation to medical appointments. A range of stimulating therapeutic activities are also offered as well as a commercial kitchen which provides a full nutritious meal service.
West River Valley Independent Living is apartment-style housing for seniors age 62 and older who can live independently but want a hassle-free lifestyle without the worries of home maintenance and up-keep. This housing provides affordable, energy-efficient apartments with full kitchens and baths. Laundry facilities and common room space is available on each floor.
Valley Cares, Inc. also houses the SASH (Support and Services at Home) Program Coordinator and Wellness Nurse. SASH is a unique wellness initiative that provides services and support to Medicare recipients living independently at home. It’s designed so people can stay healthy in all aspects of their lives and remain living independently at home.
